Self-Drive Vehicle Rental – Terms & Conditions
1. Rental Agreement
By booking or using a vehicle from Wheelify Car and Bike Rental, the renter agrees to these Terms & Conditions. The rental agreement is valid only for the vehicle, dates, and duration specified in the booking.
2. Eligibility & Documents
The renter must be at least 21 years of age.
The renter must hold a valid driving licence for at least one year.
Valid government-issued ID and driving licence must be provided at the time of pickup.
Additional age or document requirements may apply to certain vehicles.
The vehicle may only be driven by the person authorised in the booking.
3. Booking & Payment
The booking must be confirmed by paying the applicable booking amount in advance.
Payment may be made through available payment methods, including UPI and Cash, as accepted by Wheelify.
The booking is considered confirmed only after payment confirmation.
The renter must provide accurate contact and identification details during booking.
4. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation/rescheduling requests should be communicated at least 24 hours before the booking start/pickup time.
The booking amount is non-refundable in case of cancellation, unless Wheelify specifically agrees otherwise.
Cancellations or changes made within 24 hours of the booking start time may be subject to additional charges.
Failure to collect the vehicle at the scheduled time may be treated as a cancellation/no-show.
5. Rescheduling & Vehicle Swapping
Rescheduling or vehicle-swapping requests must be informed at least 24 hours before the booking start time.
Approval is subject to vehicle availability.
Any applicable difference in rental charges must be paid by the renter.
6. Security Deposit
A refundable security deposit of ₹3,000 to ₹20,000, depending on the vehicle, is required at pickup.
The deposit will be refunded after the vehicle is returned and inspected.
Deductions may be made for damages, missing items, unpaid charges, penalties, excessive cleaning, fuel shortages, or other amounts payable by the renter.
Refund processing time may vary depending on the payment method and inspection process.
7. Vehicle Condition & Inspection
The renter must inspect the vehicle before accepting it.
Existing damages should be reported to Wheelify before departure.
The renter is responsible for the vehicle during the entire rental period.
Normal wear and tear is exempt from damage charges.
Any new damage occurring during the rental period may be charged to the renter.
8. Damage & Accident Policy
The renter is responsible for damage caused to the vehicle due to negligence, misuse, reckless driving, improper operation, or violation of these terms.
In case of an accident, the renter must immediately inform Wheelify and provide all required details.
The renter must not admit liability, arrange unauthorised repairs, or make settlements with third parties without informing Wheelify, except where legally required.
Costs arising from negligence or unauthorised use may be deducted from the security deposit or recovered separately.
9. Speed Limit & Driving Behaviour
The renter must comply with all applicable traffic laws and speed limits.
Speed above 110 km/h attracts a ₹500 charge per recorded violation.
Reckless, dangerous, racing, or negligent driving is strictly prohibited.
Repeated or serious violations may result in termination of the rental without refund.
10. Beach & Off-Road Driving
Beach driving and off-road driving are strictly prohibited.
Unauthorised beach or off-road use will attract ₹8,000 compensation in addition to any damage or recovery charges.
The renter will also be responsible for any towing, recovery, repair, or related expenses arising from such use.
11. Permitted Use of Vehicle
The vehicle must not be used for:
Racing or speed testing
Off-road or beach driving
Driving competitions
Towing or pushing another vehicle
Any illegal activity
Carrying hazardous or prohibited materials
Any commercial use unless specifically authorised by Wheelify
Allowing an unauthorised person to drive the vehicle
12. Traffic Fines & Other Charges
The renter is responsible for all charges incurred during the rental period, including:
Traffic fines and penalties
Parking charges
Tolls
FASTag charges
Interstate permits and related charges
Entry/road taxes, where applicable
Towing or recovery charges caused by the renter's negligence
Any other government or third-party charges arising from the renter's use of the vehicle.
13. Fuel Policy
The vehicle will be provided with the fuel level agreed/shown at pickup.
The renter must return the vehicle with the required fuel level.
Any shortage may be charged to the renter along with applicable service/refuelling charges.
14. Rental Duration & Late Return
The vehicle must be returned at the agreed date, time, and location.
Any extension must be approved by Wheelify before the original return time.
Late returns may attract additional rental charges.
Unauthorised extension of the rental period may result in additional penalties and recovery of the vehicle.
15. Vehicle Care & Maintenance
The renter must use and operate the vehicle responsibly.
The vehicle must be kept reasonably clean and secure during the rental period.
Any mechanical issue should be reported to Wheelify immediately.
The renter must not dismantle, modify, or attempt unauthorised repairs on the vehicle.
16. Breakdown & Emergency Assistance
In case of a breakdown, accident, warning light, or mechanical issue, the renter must contact Wheelify immediately. Unauthorised repairs or replacement of parts without prior approval may not be reimbursed.
17. Documents & Legal Compliance
The renter must carry the required driving licence and other legally required documents while operating the vehicle and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
18. Personal Belongings
Wheelify is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings left inside the vehicle. Renters should check the vehicle carefully before returning it.
19. Vehicle Return & Inspection
The vehicle must be returned in the same general condition in which it was provided, subject to normal wear and tear.
Wheelify may inspect the vehicle after return.
Any outstanding charges identified during or after inspection may be recovered from the security deposit or separately billed to the renter.
20. Termination of Rental
Wheelify reserves the right to terminate the rental immediately if the renter:
Violates these Terms & Conditions
Uses the vehicle illegally or dangerously
Provides false or invalid documents
Allows an unauthorised person to drive
Fails to make required payments
Uses the vehicle for prohibited purposes.
In such cases, the renter may not be entitled to a refund and may remain liable for applicable damages and charges.
21. Privacy & Customer Information
Information and documents provided by the renter may be used for booking, verification, rental administration, payment, legal compliance, and customer support purposes.
22. Acceptance of Terms
By making a booking and/or taking possession of the vehicle, the renter confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions and agree to be responsible for the vehicle throughout the rental period.
